Psychoanalysis and leadership in a world changed by the pandemic and the War: An Interview with Kerry Sulkowicz

In this interview we will talk about the contribution of psychoanalysis to leadership. The emotional dimensions of leadership in these last two years reached a maximum amplitude with the 2020 pandemic. If before there could be an illusion in the effectiveness of an arrogant and authoritarian leadership, in the present what is desired is a leadership that can be trusted, close and authentic. Now the best leaders want to think about the complexity of emotions in another way, and there is no right answer, and this is, or is, being recognized. It is about leadership that we talk about in the interview with Kerry Sulkowicz, the president of American psychoanalytical association. The interview carried out remotely, between London and Lisbon, in March 2022. What the best leaders are made of and how leadership in such catastrophic times of pandemic and war can be decisive in the survival of the group.
