Cem anos IJP, testemunho: Primeiro Centenário e Conferência de Londres do International Journal of Psychoanalysis
Abstract
In this report we go through the history of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis (IJP) from its founding moment to the event that celebrates a hundred years of publications. The IJP arose from the need to extend the dissemination of psychoanalysis to the community of English-speaking psychoanalysts, and since then it has become a reference in this area of knowledge. The guidelines set by Ernest Jones, Sigmund Freud, Sa?ndor Ferenczi, and Otto Rank survived the passage of time, and have been transmitted and preserved by the various editors and editorial groups. In the year of celebration of the IJP centenary, a conference was held in London (“The Psychoanalytic Core: Encountering & Speaking to the Unconscious”) to explore a set of themes in psychoanalysis and its relations with the unconscious. The current editor, Dana Birksted-Breen, led the presentations of what would be a tribute conference to the past but with concern for the future.
